The band is formed out of experienced musicians involved in such acts as Eye Of Judgement, Civil Terror, Hot ‘n’ Steamy Monkey Love, Insult, Misantropicana and more, so the experience level in Starve is well in order. The four songs they’ve written are well in order for a first effort and frankly a lot of the stuff even got stuck in my head. Especially the chorus of the first song (ironically called ‘Stuck’) has been lingering in my head for some days now.

 

Although there are some dull moments here and there and sometimes the monotonous sound of the guitars and vocals are a bit boring, I am more than confident we have a worthy addition to the sludge scene worldwide with the lads from Starve. If I didn’t know any better I’d say these guys would have been from New Orleans or Nottingham. I have high hopes for their upcoming efforts and hope they will remain active for many years to come. And I can’t wait to see them live!
